Translation

Think A to B, but more sophisticated. My translations build on flawless grammar, ortography and stylistics. It is my priority for the final text to sound natural to the ears of your customers. Your style guides, glossaries and references are help me tailor the output to suit your needs.

Expanding to new markets with localization

Localization goes one step further. It adapts the content to the reality of the target audience. What works in the US might not have the same impact in the Czech Republic so the content needs to be tailored to what the local customer would expect.

Message across cultures: Transcreation

This has more to do with creative content writing than with translation per se. The original idea needs to be transformed into the target idea using completely different clues, those that are familiar to the recipients. This is often case of pop-culture references, such as movies and songs, or jokes and idioms.

Proofreading, Revision, Editing

While they sound similar, each of them has its specifics. Proofreading is a final check, a fresh pair of eyes scanning the text for possible grammatical or stylistic mistakes, while revision is often bilingual and involves comparison with the source text in order to detect translation inaccuracies and mishaps. Editing then plays with the idea of adapting the output to suit your needs better.

As a native Czech, I process high-standard translations exclusively into my mother language. If you need language services into English, I am happy to help you too. However, please bear in mind that a proofreading by a native speaker is highly recommended, especially for content of higher visibility or for publishing purposes. I have partnered with an English native speaker who helps me deliver translations into English of professional quality.
